On The Road Again: Barley & Salt

On The Road Again

Barley & Salt

Environment

Located in North Conway, New Hampshire, just off the main highway thru town.  From what I know, Barley & Salt is fairly new and everything looked new when I walked in for lunch.  Very modern and a nice bar with a chalkboard listing their 30 craft beers on tap.  They offer a large bar sitting area, dining area and an outdoor patio.  We chose to eat outside as the weather in NH is delightful this time of the year!

Attendance

Went with a couple of the staff where I was working that week and we were seated immediately.  The patio was quite busy, but we were attended to as one would expect.  I appreciate the knowledge of the menu and their helpfulness in helping us to decide what to get that day.

Chew

B & S BURGER
angus burger, lettuce, tomato, onion & american cheese topped with b&s secret sauce
on a bulkie roll

I have to say that this was the best burger that I’ve had in a long while.  The seasoning on the meat was perfect.  Not sure what  ‘bulkie’ roll is, but it was delicious.  Sometimes the bread can kill the burger, but this one made it.

SHAWARMA
curry-roasted chicken, feta, hummus, tatziki & cucumber in a pita

KOREAN BEEF TACO
kimchi, pickled cukes, sriracha mayo & scallions

I didn’t get to try the Shawarma or the Korean Beef Taco, but they both looked awesome and the ladies with me both loved their entrees.

Endorsement

So thankful that the ladies where I was working in New Hampshire suggested Barley & Salt.  Easily the best place I got to dine on this trip to New Hampshire.  One of the best things about my job, is getting to go to places I would never go to on my own and trying new and interesting places, like Barley and Salt.  Definitely on my list when I return.

Tip Top Chew

Hi!  I’m James, single dad of two awesome kids (Kennedy and Boyd) who often join me in my journey of finding great places to dine.  I started Tip Top Chew as a hobby  on Facebook back in 2015 and Instagram in early 2018.  It’s a something I enjoy even though I get made fun of sometimes when I break out the camera to take pictures of my food!  🙂

My goal with this blog, is to be able to share a bit more of my creative side and to grow stronger relationships with my kids as we venture out and share together.  We’re starting a segment called Chewing with Dad to help us to get away from our phones while out so that we might enjoy each other’s company more as we discuss our adventures,  Then we all write down our thoughts.  I’m really looking forward to this process!
