Environment

Boyd:  There were pictures.

Kennedy:  Elegant and a little stuffy. It was pretty nice and dark inside with candles on the tables.

James:  Much nicer than I anticipated with small tables for 4 with white table cloths and a candle on each. An L shaped bar with seating for 6.  Loved the Italian opera music.

Kennedy:  The service was very good. They were very helpful.

James:  Shelby did an awesome job. Love it when they box up your leftovers.

Chew

Boyd:  The bread was good. The meatballs were good. I liked the Lava cake the best cause it had ice cream and the cake tasted like fudge.

Fettuccine Alfredo

Kennedy:  I had Tilapia Piccata. It was delicious. It was cooked perfectly and it had a very marvelous taste. Of the desserts, I liked the lava cake the most. It was warm and tasteful.

James:  They brought bread with Tapenade and bruschetta tomatoes. The bread was so soft. I was told that they made the bread in house. So good with the sides. So, we all tried each of the entrees and I have to say that all were delicious. I’m a sucker for simple spaghetti with meat sauce, so the addition of meatballs was on point. Not a big fan of Tilapia, but this dish was so good. Breaded Tilapia topped with a buttery lemony sauce with capers. The Alfredo was good, but probably wouldn’t have ordered, had there not been a picky 8 year old around. 😉

The desserts were so good. My favorite was the creme brulee. It’s been a long time since I’ve had really good creme brulee and I can’t wait until I get it again from Italy In Town

Boyd:  I didn’t like it cause it wasn’t really kid friendly, but the Lava cake was good.

Kennedy:  I would definitely recommend it to people my age.

James:  I was taken aback when I pulled up, as it’s just a plain little place in downtown Benton, just around from the courthouse, but that all changed when I walked inside. Somewhat welcoming, very quiet and quaint. Not for you, if you like fancy and flair.  I totally recommend Italy In Town for the simple setting and the scrumptious cuisine.

Chewing with Dad

I’ve had the idea for Chewing with Dad for some time.  Really was thinking of ways to become more interactive with Kennedy and Boyd and to help get us away from our phones while we are out.  Want us to be able to enjoy each other’s company as we discuss our adventures.  Then we write it all down.  We’ve defined an outline (although, I know it may change over time) of what we want this blog to look like.  The four main sections (Environment, Attendance, Chew and Endorsement) are discussed prior to getting where we are going, during the experience and afterwards.  I’m really looking forward to this process!  Who knew that Tip Top Chew would bring us closer as a family!
