Throwback Thursday: February 2016

Throwback Thursday:  February 2016

So in honor of hitting 1000 Likes on Facebook, I thought I’d do a little something different for the blog.  Basically, it’s just a look back over time in the life of Tip Top Chew, through our Facebook Page, where it all began.  Our goal is to come out with a new blog every week with a Tip Top Chew Throwback Thursday!  (Hopefully on Thursday! 🙂 )

2015 10_1

I always enjoy looking back to see what all has changed.  Some places are still awesome as ever and some are now no longer with us.

I hope you all enjoy it.

I think we were in Hot Springs for a volleyball tournament and slipped out around the corner from the convention center to Fat Jacks.  It looks a little cheesy!

Another chain, but one of my favorites.  Can’t say that I’ve been to Blaze Pizza in a few years, especially since moving from WLR.  Would still be eating there, if It were closer!

Can you say Kids Eat Free!!!  Dickey’s Barbecue Pit is another regional chain that is really growing.  Every time I eat here, it is always delicious.  Usually, just go in and order meat by the pound.  My favorite is the Smoked Turkey.  So good!

February 21, 2016

I have to say that Big Orange has always been one of my favorite places since they opened.  This was my first trip and if I recommend anything, embrace the monthly specials like this Frito Chili Pie Burger.  If anyone knows the management, please let them know to bring this one back soon!  It’s a killer burger!

Fairly slow month, in the way of dining out at good restaurants.  Probably ate out lots, but if it’s not good food, then it doesn’t make it on Tip Top Chew!

Tip Top Chew

Hi!  I’m James, single dad of two awesome kids (Kennedy and Boyd), who sometimes join me in my journey of finding great places to dine.  I started Tip Top Chew as a hobby on Facebook back in 2015 and Instagram in early 2018.  It’s something I enjoy, even though others occasionally make fun of me when I break out the camera to take pictures of our food!  🙂

My goal with this blog is to be able to share a bit more of my creative side while growing stronger relationships with my kids as we venture out and share together.  We’re starting a segment called Chewing with Dad in the hopes to get away from our phones and enjoy each other’s company a little more.  We discuss our adventures, then we write it all down and hopefully it turns into something worth reading.  I’m looking forward to this process!
